At the 43rd installment of the Excellence In Concrete Awards, Chambers Construction project, Marshfield Jr. High, took the win in the Education category! Organized by the Oregon Concrete & Aggregate Producers Association, the Oregon Chapter of the American Concrete Institute and industry sponsors, this annual competition is designed to recognize projects that use concrete in extensive or innovative ways.
As quoted by the the awards committee, "Marshfield Junior High School is an exceptional example of how a creative design and construction team can provide a community with a state-of-the-art, modern school that is both extremely durable and beautiful by utilizing concrete and taking advantage of its great variety of systems, forms, colors and graphics. We have no doubt that because this school is built extensively with concrete that it will serve the community of Coos Bay for far longer than it would have if constructed of other materials." Thank you to our project partners:

“Chambers is a hero amongst our community. They go the extra mile to make lives – and everything they build – better.” – Jenny Bennett
This year, the Oregon Bankers Association awarded Chambers Construction its annual Community Applause Award. We are honored to receive such a prestigious award and it’s a great way to end 2020. Founded in 1996, the Community Applause Award is given to an Oregon business to acknowledge its significant service and contributions to its community. Oregon banks nominate a business customer that they feel is worthy of the award, then an independent panel of judges carefully reviews the nominations and votes for a winner. Since the inception of the award, 43 Oregon businesses have been recognized, including Chambers Construction this year. Jenny Bennett, senior vice president of marketing and business development at Summit Bank nominated us. When describing Chambers, Jenny said, “Chambers Construction is one of the most philanthropic, generous businesses in town.” We are humbled by that high praise. Richard A. Chambers founded Chambers Construction in 1955. His philosophy was to maintain the same integrity, responsiveness and devotion to building and maintaining relationships with clients, the community and partners alike. Doing business with that in mind, we have continued quality construction and giving to our community. Chambers Construction offers support to numerous nonprofits and foundations within the Eugene/Springfield area, including Oregon Cancer Foundation, Bags of Love, Womenspace, CASA of Lane County, Cascade Health, countless education foundations and many more. We are also proud of our employees who volunteer, participate in fundraisers, attend events, and personally give of their time and money. Some even serve as board members for these vital community organizations. Our philosophy of “community first” is the driving force behind our philanthropic endeavors, construction and business. This will never change. Along with the Community Applause Award, the Bankers Association gave Chambers Construction a $1000 check as a donation in our name to Bags of Love, a nonprofit that supports youth in crisis. In addition, Summit Bank was awarded $500 for the nomination, which it promptly donated to Womenspace, also on behalf of Chambers Construction. Thank you, Summit Bank and Jenny Bennett, for the vote of confidence and thank you to Oregon Bankers Association and Oregon Business magazine for the award. We are truly grateful. “Chambers is a hero amongst our community. They go the extra mile to make lives – and everything they build – better.” – Jenny Bennett A video about Chambers Construction and their community involvement was produced by the OBA and is available for viewing at https://youtu.be/hEPzWCmjK6A. "We are thrilled to share that the craftsperson award was given to Chambers’ Jon McCoy. Congratulations, Jon!" American Institute of Architects (AIA) Eugene held the 2019 Construction Craft Awards program on May 8, 2019, at the UO Ford Alumni Center.
Two of our superintendents, Tim Jacobs and Jon McCoy, were nominated for the prestigious Craftsperson Award. The last time this award was held by someone at Chambers Construction was in 2015 when our recent Superintendent retiree, Don Brockmann was the award winner. Jon McCoy has been employed with Chambers for almost 30 years and has more than 46 years experience in the construction industry. Tim Jacobs has been an employee of Chambers for six years but is no stranger to the construction industry with more than 29 years of experience in his field. The purpose of this long running awards program, which started in 1953, is to give special recognition to those individuals in the building industry who have mastered the ideals of their craft on a particular project or over the course of their careers. AIA Eugene accepted nominations and a jury comprised of AIA Oregon architects, members of the construction industry and past award winners chose a winner, which was announced at the May 8 event. We are thrilled to share that the craftsperson award was given to Chambers’ Jon McCoy. Congratulations, Jon! We are so proud of you. Several of our team members were privileged to attend the Springfield Chamber’s 69th Annual Awards and Installation Banquet on Friday, January 18 at the Lane Community College Center for Meeting and Learning.
The banquet brings together more than 300 influential community leaders, elected officials, business executives and chamber members to celebrate the great community spirit and citizens of Springfield, Oregon. We were honored when Chambers Construction was announced as the prestigious Pillar of the Community award winner. The award is given to a business or organization that has made a long-standing impact on the community. “One of our core values is finding time and creating opportunities to help each other,” said Vice President of Business Development, Brian Erickson about receiving the Pillar Award. “This commitment not only guides how we treat each other in the work place but also includes our interactions within the communities in which we live and work.” It was a fun, inspiring night for our team, full of great food, rich conversation and civic pride! We look forward to 2019 and beyond with enthusiasm, continuing our legacy of building and maintaining relationships with our clients, the community and partners. #1 Rated Travelers Insurance recently recognized Chambers Construction for its 50-year commitment to excellence.
